A Glimpse into Effective Teaching: Reflections on the Demo Classes

On December 26, 2024, we had the opportunity to attend the demo classes conducted by our seniors as part of their B.Ed. curriculum. It was truly an enriching experience that gave us a front-row seat to effective teaching in action. Each session was a thoughtful blend of creativity, strategy, and professionalism, leaving a lasting impression on us as budding educators.

The demo classes showcased a range of innovative teaching techniques, from interactive activities and real-life examples to the smart integration of visual aids and technology. The seniors demonstrated impressive classroom management skills, maintaining discipline while ensuring student participation and engagement throughout. Their well-structured lesson plans catered to different learning styles, making the sessions inclusive and dynamic.

What made the experience even more meaningful were the reflective discussions that followed each class. We were encouraged to share our thoughts, ask questions, and analyze what worked well. These discussions offered us deeper insights into practical teaching, helping us understand not just the “how,” but also the “why” behind each method.

Attending these demo classes has undoubtedly enriched our perspective. We now feel more confident and better prepared to design and deliver our own lessons. The inspiration drawn from our seniors' performances motivates us to strive for excellence and adopt a more reflective, student-centered approach in our future classrooms.

In short, this experience was not just about observation—it was a stepping stone towards becoming effective and compassionate educators.

B.Ed college experience

 "The Beginning of a New Journey: My First Few Days at B.Ed College" Starting my B.Ed journey was filled with   excitement, curiosity and nervousness. Our college is situated in a hillyarea🏞️. The natural view from our college is really beautiful.                Our college name is Kaviyattu College of Education and I've chosen to purse a B.Ed degree in Mathematics. College campus  On the first day, we had an orientation session where we got to familiarize ourselves with faculty and fellow students🤝.  As per bed curriculum, we the student of Kaviyattu College OF Education, are embarking on a teaching practice journey to boost our skill and translate theoretical knowledge into practical experience. First week experience   Day 01   Today 14/07/2025 marked the beginning of my teaching practice.We arrived at school at 9.00 The senior teacher arranged our seating and received time table During the third period there was no teacher in class 8E, so I was assigned to substitute for that teacher. I introduced myself to the student, later they introduced themselves to me. I managed the classroom very well. Following the 4th period, there was a lunch break in school and we also joined to serve free meal to students. After lunch break we worked on our lesson plan and prepared my first class.
