MATHTOPIA- Pi Day Celebration ;A Memorable Maths Exhibition
March 14th, famously known as Pi Day (3/14), is a day dedicated to celebrating the mathematical constant π (pi), which represents the ratio of a circle’s circumference to its diameter, approximately 3.14. It’s a unique occasion to honour mathematics, creativity, and curiosity — and this year, our mathematics department took it a step further with a vibrant exhibition to mark the occasion.
The exhibition was officially inaugurated by our beloved Principal, Deepthi Ma’am, whose presence made the day even more special. This celebration was the result of several days of planning and hard work by our small yet determined group of six. It was our very first departmental event, and we managed it entirely without the guidance of our seniors — a real challenge, but one that turned out to be incredibly rewarding.
We created a variety of items themed around pi to make the exhibition engaging and visually appealing. I personally contributed by making a Pi-themed clock, informative chart works, and hanging decorations shaped like the symbol π. Seeing everything beautifully arranged and receiving compliments from our principal, teachers, and peers made us feel genuinely proud and appreciated.
To make the event interactive, we also set up a fun Ludo game for visitors to enjoy, which turned out to be a hit with both students and teachers. Another highlight was the photo frame corner we designed for everyone to take memorable pictures — and it surely added a joyful touch to the celebration.
This Pi Day was not just a celebration of a mathematical constant; it was a celebration of teamwork, creativity, and the joy of learning. It reminded us that mathematics can be both fun and inspiring when presented with passion and imagination.
We’re truly grateful for the encouragement we received and look forward to organizing many more successful events in the future!
