Chalk Dust and Turning Pages: My Teaching Practice Journey8th week

 Day -32

Today, the school conducted its Annual Sports Day. The programme was well-planned and organized by the physical education department with the active support of teachers and student volunteers. The students were divided into four houses — Green, Yellow, Blue, and Red.

The day began with an impressive march past performed by all four houses, followed by the hoisting of the school flag and an oath-taking ceremony. Various track and field events were conducted enthusiastically. Students participated with great energy and team spirit. The Yellow House emerged as the overall winner of the Sports Day. Selected students also qualified for the sub-district level sports events, which was a proud moment for the school. The entire programme ran smoothly and created a joyful atmosphere on campus.

Day -33

Today I taught third way of proving triangle similar for class 9B. The class was highly interactive and engaging. Students actively participated in the activities. The practical approach helped them understand the concept more clearly.

Day -34

For today’s teaching practice, I planned to conduct an Achievement Test for class 8E to assess the overall learning outcomes of the unit previously taught. The test was designed for 30 marks, covering all major concepts to evaluate students’ understanding, application, and problem-solving skills.

Students wrote the exam with sincerity and showed confidence in answering the questions. The test environment was calm and well-disciplined

Day -35

Today, the school conducted its Annual Art Festival, which is a two-day programme celebrating creativity and talent among students. The event was inaugurated by Sheela Kumari, a member of the District Panchayat, adding a sense of pride and importance to the occasion. Students from various classes participated enthusiastically, showcasing their skills in painting, sculpture, craft, and other art forms. The festival provided a platform for learners to express their creativity, develop confidence, and appreciate the talents of their peers.

The main guest, Gokul Sadasivan, the cine artist, inspired students with his motivational speech and encouragement for pursuing artistic interests. The event was well-organized and ran smoothly, creating a vibrant and lively atmosphere throughout the school. From this experience, I realized the significance of co-curricular activities in fostering holistic development in students. Observing the enthusiasm and participation of students reinforced the importance of providing opportunities for creative expression alongside academic learning

Day -36

Today, the school was scheduled to conduct the second day of the Art Festival, which was originally planned for Friday. However, due to heavy rain and a holiday announced by the District Collector for all educational institutions in Trivandrum, the event was postponed to Monday. Despite the delay, the rescheduled programme was conducted smoothly and was lively and vibrant. Students actively participated in various competitions, showcasing their creativity and talent in different art forms.

The atmosphere during the festival was cheerful and engaging, with students, teachers, and guests appreciating the performances and displays. The delay did not diminish the enthusiasm of the participants; rather, it seemed to make the event more exciting and energetic.
