EKTA–2025: A Day of Healing, Creativity, and Collective Responsibility
Day 4 – Community Living Camp, Kaviyattu College of Education
The fourth day of the EKTA–2025 Community Living Camp unfolded as a deeply enriching experience, focusing on mental well-being, emotional balance, creative expression, teamwork, environmental responsibility, and cultural unity. The programmes of the day nurtured the inner self of student teachers while also strengthening their sense of collective responsibility and community living.
At 9:56 a.m., a powerful and reflective “Healing Hub” programme was conducted by Mr. Gireesh Sparuthimadam, trainer and journalist from Deepika. The session focused on mental health, emotional healing, and self-awareness. Through interactive discussions and reflective activities, he highlighted the importance of emotional balance, positive thinking, and inner peace in daily life. He sensitively explained how stress, anxiety, and emotional disturbances affect both personal and professional life, especially in the teaching profession, and shared simple techniques for self-healing and mental well-being. The session helped student teachers understand that mental health is as important as physical health.
After a short break, Mr. Gireesh Sir continued the learning journey with a Balance Class (11:20 a.m. – 12:45 p.m.), focusing on achieving harmony between the physical, emotional, and mental dimensions of life. Through practical exercises, reflective practices, and interactive discussions, he emphasized the importance of work–life balance, self-control, patience, and emotional stability. The session empowered student teachers with tools for inner strength and self-management.
The post-lunch session began at 1:50 p.m. with a Theatre Practice Session conducted by Mr. Peter Parakkal Sir, Founder of Nadakakkoodu. This creative session trained student teachers in basic acting skills, voice modulation, facial expressions, body movements, and teamwork. Theatre was introduced not just as an art form, but as a powerful medium for communication, creativity, and social awareness. The session boosted confidence, expression, collaboration, and creative learning among the participants.
At 5:00 p.m., the focus shifted to environmental responsibility with a Campus Beautification Programme. Student teachers actively participated in vegetable gardening, tree planting, and campus cleaning. This collective activity promoted love for nature, sustainable living, environmental awareness, and teamwork. It beautifully reflected the idea that community development begins with caring for one’s immediate surroundings.
The day concluded on a joyful and nostalgic note with a cultural programme titled “90s Skit” at 9:00 p.m. Student teachers creatively designed a skit using popular songs from the 1990s, blending music, drama, and storytelling. The performance was lively, entertaining, and emotionally engaging, strengthening bonds of friendship, teamwork, and cultural appreciation. The atmosphere was filled with laughter, memories, and togetherness.
Day 04 of EKTA–2025 became a celebration of mind, art, nature, and unity. The integration of mental wellness sessions, theatre practice, environmental activities, and cultural expression made the day deeply meaningful and memorable. It beautifully reinforced the camp theme “Unity for Community”, proving that true community living begins with inner harmony, creative collaboration, and shared responsibility.
