EKTA–2025: A Day of Health, Awareness, and Creative Unity

Day 2  – Community Living Camp, Kaviyattu College of Education

The second day of the EKTA–2025 Community Living Camp unfolded as a beautiful blend of physical well-being, social awareness, humanitarian values, and creative expression. Every activity of the day reflected the true spirit of the camp theme “Unity for Community”, contributing to the holistic development of student teachers and strengthening the bonds of unity and cooperation among them.

The day began on a refreshing and energetic note with a Yoga Session from 6:30 a.m. to 7:30 a.m., led by Ms. Shaini J. Through various yogic postures, breathing exercises, and relaxation techniques, the session promoted physical fitness, mental calmness, and emotional balance. It helped the participants begin the day with positivity, discipline, and renewed energy, reminding future teachers of the importance of a healthy body and peaceful mind in the teaching profession.

After personal preparation and breakfast, the formal programmes commenced with a prayer at 9:35 a.m., creating a serene and focused atmosphere for the day’s activities.

At 9:45 a.m., an impactful Awareness Class by the Excise Department was conducted by Mr. P. D. Prasad, Assistant Excise Inspector. The session created strong awareness about the harmful effects of substance abuse, including alcohol and drugs. He explained the physical, psychological, and social consequences of addiction and highlighted the responsibility of youth and teachers in building a drug-free society. The session inspired student teachers to become change-makers and awareness creators in their future classrooms and communities.

Following a short break, an Awareness Class on Blood Donation was conducted by Mr. Amal A. S. at 11:15 a.m. This session focused on the importance of voluntary blood donation, eligibility criteria, myths and facts, and the life-saving value of donated blood. The session instilled humanitarian values and social responsibility, motivating student teachers to actively participate in blood donation drives and service-oriented initiatives.

After lunch, the day took a creative and collaborative turn with the Wall Art Activity (3:15 p.m. – 6:10 p.m.). Student teachers worked together in groups to design and paint wall art, transforming blank spaces into meaningful visual expressions. This activity enhanced creativity, teamwork, aesthetic sense, cooperation, and collective responsibility. The wall art beautifully symbolized unity in diversity, as different ideas came together to create a single artistic vision.

The tea break during the session added moments of relaxation and informal interaction, strengthening friendship and togetherness among the participants.

Day 02 of EKTA–2025 was a perfect reflection of holistic education—where body, mind, values, and creativity came together. Through yoga, awareness programmes, social responsibility sessions, and creative teamwork, the day strengthened not only knowledge but also character, compassion, and community spirit. It truly reinforced the essence of “Unity for Community”, making the second day enriching, inspiring, and memorable.
